It was deep in Melbourne’s lockdown of 2020 that Joseph Norster sent me a recording of a conversation he had with his son, August, after an encounter with a tiger snake at The Quarry, Beech Forest (Gadubanud Country). He asked if I could ‘do something with it’, so I listened to it a few times, played it to my partner, dogs, resident birds and fruit bats, then locked myself in the studio and recorded the sonic response that became Side A of ‘In A Quarry…’ LP. It’s finally out in the world thanks to @vladimir_ivkovic and @offenmusic. Link in the hot spot 🐍
